Personal Snow Rally

Here was a little fun in the Mark VIII Lincoln form the last snow storm.

Picking up the torch

Congrats to Dillon Van Way who won the 2 wheel drive class at the first Rally America event of the year, Sno-Drift. He is currently the first driver to campaign the new Ford Fiesta since Ken Block left at the end of last season to go to WRC. Ford and Mr. Van Way are off to a winning start. Git some, Dillon!

Following in Ukraine.

We seem to have a big following in Ukraine. I think this is thanks to my buddy Balint Huszar on Facebook though he is next door in Hungary. Thanks big guy. Robert Kubica is proof of the driving prowess coming out of area right now and is rumored to be heading to Ferrari's Formula One team next year. Just some handy information...

Truckin'

While I'm at it, I think I'll post some other road pics I haven't published yet. First off are some pics of some of the best snow covered roads I've had the pleasure to traverse. These pics where taken up in North Central Minnesota (before the SuperDome collapse)

Next are some mountain roads between Ft.Collins, CO. and Laramie, WY. Not the best roads on the planet but there is hardly ever any traffic.

 More to come.

Pikes Peak Yall!!

I just happen to be in Colorado Springs working some business this week and I found a little time to run up Pikes Peak which is about 30 min. from Co.Springs. If you decide to make the trip yourself take note as to how much power is sapped by the elevation. It will be very noticeable. It was a much happier ride back down and if you bring the proper equipment, I imagine you could make it all the way down sideways. Here are some of the better pics. Wished I had brought a real camera but my phone didn't do too bad. Please to enjoy.

Rally in America...

OK. Ken Block is in Europe, Pastrana is going to Nascar and Foust has a big hit TV show. At this point none are signed up for the first Rally America event of the 2011 season. I was so happy to have some big names in the sport to make it grow here in the US. What do we do now?!?! Ford seems to be throwing some money into the ring with a Fiesta Cup series. Subura, of course, has an actual factory backed Rally America team. I think my new car will be either a Ford or Subaru, that is for sure. I will do my best to support the companies that support the sport.
On a totally different note, I f%#*ing hate Nascar and I don't give a f#%* who knows it. I wouldn't mind so much if they wouldn't take some of the top drivers from other sports and make them do some of the most mundane, uninteresting crap on four wheels. I would watch more if there were more variables thrown in like a right turn every once in a while (more Watkins Glen type events perhaps). As is sits now. Nascar is more like poker than a motorsport. It all comes down to shit like "should I hold on to my tires now and hope someone doubles down on a crash or do I go all in on tires now"...

P.S. Thanks to Mr. Mirra for sticking around.
