Pinto Stampede comes to K.C.

The stampede stopped at the Kansas Speed way on their way to Carlisle, PA. They did a few laps and chatted it up with the few who came out to wish them well on the journey. Darren & I talked to Charles Pitts who was making the trip from Woodland Hills, CA. He gave us a tour of his '71 Lotus powered road racer. Very cool Pinto.

Have fun fellas.

New Ford RS Cosworth 4x4 cars?

New Ford RS Cosworth 4x4 cars....better late than never!

Now on the Cosworth and CosworthUSA web sites, there are much many spare parts for Mitsubishi and Subaru than for Ford (this is really sad for all Ford's RS Cosworth fans!),…gosh, why did it happen? Ford has a very great tradition of providing exciting performance versions of its compact and small cars. Such the big tradition of the Ford-Cosworth cars! I do know and you, Ford's current people, do you know?

These days the Rally-Sport cars which win rally and rallycross races (WRC, PWRC, Rally America, X Games, Super Production and so on), they have 4WD/AWD not FWD, not a front-wheel drive car like the MK2 Focus RS at all.

In reality, if the Ford's customer would insist on all-wheel drive, he will go to buy Subaru, Mitsubishi or VW. A lot consumers today want B-, C-, D-segment cars with all-wheel drive, Ford should sell this if they are willing to listen to what costumers want.

Why can't be all-wheel drive like an option used in the global Fiesta?
Why can't be all-wheel drive like an option used in the global new Focus?

I'm hoping to see the RS Cosworth 4x4 badge on Ford's cars like the current Fiesta and the new Focus in the future! This badge is a very important part of Ford's DNA.

Unfortunately, in fact, Ford should have put an all-wheel drive option for these cars on the global market at least nine years ago. But though the new AWD RS might be late to the party, it's patently the most desirable guest.

Would you like to Ford will produce the new RS Cosworth cars with all-wheel drive? If yes, so vote directly on Ford's oficial website for these ideas:

Is this the new Escape?

We're not the first to break it but the pics are compelling. This is the Current model Kuga sold in Europe.
And this is the Vertrek concept from Ford U.S.
Yep. Europe got it first... Again!
Currently the Kuga is sold with either a 2.5 in line 5 (Volvo) or a 2.0 Diesel.

I think we will get a few more choices but I'm willing to bet we won't get the diesel even though they would likely sell well in the U.S.

Clarkson's Car Years - Ford Escort RS Cosworth Buttertub's

Ya why doesn't ford make stuff like this today?

Transmission you need to make your Yard Dart an AWD

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ford_transmissions
The ones you want are the MTX75 or CD4E for the Zetec and 6F35 for Duratec. I believe there was an AWD F4EAT before these that was mated to a Zetec. Most of these can be found in the Ford Escape. We are currently watching www.Copart.com for a nicely rear-ended example to purchase though "Shaman" thinks he might have located an '06 a little closer to home. As soon as we get our hands on one, we'll do a full "how-to" with pix of the drive-train swap into an Escort with a Zetec.
